Private AI memory of your work

Your work, remembered.

Mimi quietly keeps a work memory of the threads, docs and pages you allow, in a private database on your computer. So you never have to explain the context again.

Ask questions about your own work

Ask your memory anything.

What did Sarah need? When did you promise the deck? Ask in plain words and get the answer with where it came from.

Ask your memory…

Plug your memory into your AI tools.

Mimi runs a small MCP server on your computer. Turn it on and the assistants you already use can look things up in your memory, instead of you pasting context into every chat.

Off until you switch it on. Anything an assistant looks up is shared with that assistant, so you choose which ones can connect.

AI reply drafts, in context

Replies that already know the thread.

Tap the Mimi key in any reply box. Mimi reads the conversation on screen, pulls in what it remembers about your work, and drafts the reply the way you'd write it.

Write in your own voice and tone

Teach it how you write.

Paste 3–5 messages you've actually sent. Mimi turns them into a short style guide you can edit, and every "My tone" rewrite follows it.

    Mimi FAQ

    Questions, answered.

    What is Mimi?

Mimi is a desktop writing assistant that drafts replies and rewrites text in your own voice, in any app where you type. It keeps a private memory of your work on your computer, so drafts already know the context. Nothing sends until you say so.

How does Mimi write emails and messages in my own voice?

Paste 3 to 5 messages you've actually sent. Mimi turns them into a short style guide you can edit, and every reply and "My tone" rewrite follows it.

Can Mimi draft replies to email and Slack messages?

Yes. In a reply box, Mimi reads the conversation on screen, looks up anything relevant in your work memory, and drafts a reply the way you'd write it. You review it before anything is sent.

Can Mimi rewrite highlighted text in any app?

Yes. Select text in any app, such as an email, a chat reply, a doc or a form field, and Mimi offers six rewrites: My tone, Fix grammar, Shorten, Formal, Casual and Bullets. Nothing changes until you accept it.

Does Mimi record everything I type?

No. Mimi doesn't log keystrokes. It remembers text from the apps and sites you allow, keeps it in a private database on your computer, and never captures password fields. You can pause any app or site, or delete anything it remembered.

Can I ask Mimi questions about my own work?

Yes. Ask in plain words, like "What did Sarah need?" or "When did I promise the deck?", and Mimi answers from your work memory and shows where the answer came from.

What gets sent to the AI?

Only when you ask for a reply or rewrite: the text you selected or the thread you're replying to, a few relevant notes from your memory, and your style guide. Your full memory, clipboard history and writing samples stay on your computer.

    Does Mimi have clipboard history?

Yes. Mimi keeps a searchable history of everything you copy, stored on your computer. Items your password manager marks as secret are never recorded, and you can rewrite a clip before you paste it.

How is Mimi different from a grammar checker?

Grammar checkers correct what you wrote. Mimi drafts and rewrites in your own voice, using what it remembers about your work, so replies include the right dates, files and promises instead of generic text.

Which apps does Mimi work in?

Any app where you type. Mimi sits quietly in the background, so it's there in chat, email, docs and the browser.

Can my other AI assistants use Mimi's memory?

Optionally. Mimi can run a small MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on your computer so AI assistants you already use can search your memory when you ask them to. It's off until you turn it on, and you choose which assistants can connect.

Is Mimi free? How do I get access?
