# Mimi

> Mimi is a desktop writing assistant that drafts replies and rewrites text in your own voice, in any app, using a private memory of your work. Nothing sends until you say so. Mimi is in early access (waitlist at https://mimihq.com/#join).

## What Mimi does

- **Memory of your work:** keeps a private memory of the threads, docs and pages you allow, in a database on your computer. Password fields are never captured; any app or site can be paused.
- **Ask:** answer plain-language questions about your own work ("What did Sarah need?", "When did I promise the deck?"), with the source shown.
- **Reply drafting:** in any reply box, Mimi reads the conversation on screen, pulls relevant details from your memory, and drafts a reply the way you'd write it.
- **Your voice and tone:** paste 3 to 5 messages you've sent; Mimi builds an editable style guide that every draft follows.
- **Rewrite highlighted text in any app:** six actions: My tone, Fix grammar, Shorten, Formal, Casual, Bullets. Nothing changes until you accept.
- **Clipboard history:** a searchable history of everything you copy, stored locally; secrets flagged by password managers are skipped.
- **Privacy:** your memory, clipboard history and writing samples stay on your computer. Only what a single reply or rewrite needs is sent, and only when you ask.
- **Optional MCP server:** lets AI assistants you choose search your memory. Off by default.
